Custom Comics on a roll

Custom comic for a client I met at The Great Bridal Expo!

Custom comic for a client I met at The Great Bridal Expo!

I finished this digitally colored custom comic about a month ago.  Here's what Karyn had to say: "I first [met] Mindy at the bridal expo in NY, and she honestly was the only vendor that stood out.  From our first meeting Mindy has been professional and very in tuned to what my fiancee and I were looking for in creativity.  Professional, creative, understanding, artistic, and very sweet!

Thank you Mindy for our personalized detailed comic! We cant wait to use our comic portrait at our wedding this September!"

Yay!  Super glad that people are loving my work and are very satisfied with the finished product.  The more I do these wedding comics, the more interesting it is to me how couples met each other.  Mutual friends were in the works for this couple (too bad most of my friends all know each other :P

Lots of times when doing comic work (that's not storyboarding) I'll either listen to music, comics podcasts like Sequential Underground or Gutter Talk, Neil Degrasse Tyson's Startalk Radio, or RadioLab.  RadioLab is super awesome and I feel smarter after listening :)  KNOWLEDGE!!

Custom Illustrated Message Boards

Here's the first gig I finished from someone I met at The Great Bridal Expo back in January!  I actually finished this at the end of February.  It's the (future) bride and groom as mythical creatures :)  This is a board for people to sign at the reception - either just the wedding party or everyone that's invited to the wedding.  Having me make something custom like this is a great way to show your personal style for the big day :)

Here's a close-up.  The watercolor background didn't come out as good in the scan as it looks in real life, because scanners don't pick up all of the light blues.  But it still looks good :)  I was especially happy about how the mermaid's tail turned out :)  If you'd like me to make something like this for your event, just send me an email at mindy at mindyindy.com!  Not just for weddings - could be for a housewarming party or something.

Apparently I need more Vitamin D.  Not surprising, as winter just ended.
