Riis Park Beach Bazaar This Sunday!

riis.jpg

So after the NY ESA surf challenge went so awesomely last week, I decided I’d like to exhibit in more beach locations! What a fun theme for the summer, right? I’ll be at the Riis Park Beach Bazaar this Sunday June 9th! It’s in the Rockaways: 16702 Rockaway Beach Blvd. Queens, NY 11694. This Bazaar actually goes on every day from 11a-6p, and I’ll be trying it out to see how it goes. Going to sell AER HEAD prints and also draw summer themed sketches! There will be music too: Screamin’ Rebel Angels from Noon- 5 and two DJs! Also there is food and other cool random stuff that’s quintessentially NYC.

You know how most of summer goes by and then you’re like “omg I haven’t gone to the beach yet” in late August? Don’t let that happen! NYC has tons of great beaches, so please visit the Rockaways this weekend and stop by the Riis Park Beach Bazaar!

Jews and Rock Art Exhibit starts Sunday 2/10!

jews and rock brochure cover.jpg

One of my comics will be displayed in the Brooklyn Jewish Art Gallery this Sunday! For over 6 years I’ve drawn a weekly web comic for the Dysautonomia Foundation called “No Tears: Life With FD.” FD stands for Familial Dysautonomia, a rare Jewish genetic neurological disorder that effects the sensory and autonomic nervous systems. The comic’s title has a double meaning - one of the symptoms of FD is the absence of overflow tears / corneal drying. The title also encourages FD patients and their families to have hope through their daily struggles. Topics in the comic series range from dealing with specific FD situations, like Crisis, to social scenarios of persons with disabilities, and more. The comic has always had a light-hearted and touching theme focusing on the closeness of families.

This is the comic that will be featured! For the past few years, I’ve been writing the scripts as well, and this strip was inspired by my love of music.

Here’s the eventbrite for the show opening.
